This Job Application Made Me Promise I’d Never Use AI 😳

Okay… so I’m filling out a job application, minding my own business, when I get hit with this gem:

Comic-style "WTF?!" text and an exploding head emoji over a policy stating interviewers' skills must be non-AI-assisted. Logo reads "DamnJobs.com".

“Our interview process is designed to assess a candidate’s fundamental, non-AI-assisted skills. Please do not use any AI tools during any part of the interview process. Candidates found in violation may be immediately disqualified. Please indicate ‘Yes’ if you have read and agree.”

Wait… WHAT? 😳

I had to read it twice. They’re basically saying: “We know AI exists, we know you probably use it, but swear to us you won’t… or else!”

Like… okay, first of all, I use AI to draft emails, make grocery lists, write my blog posts… now you’re telling me I can’t use it to, I don’t know, not embarrass myself in an interview?

And the best part? The application made me click a box that literally says ‘Yes’. Like, there’s no “Maybe I’ll cheat a little” option. Just YES.

I can only imagine the HR team sitting there thinking:

“We will catch them. AI shall not prevail.”

Honestly… I laughed. I cried. I almost submitted a blank page just to see what would happen.

But here’s the takeaway: companies are weird. Interviews are weird. And sometimes, the rules are straight-up hilarious.

So next time you see a “No AI” checkbox in a job application… just know you’re not alone. We all see it, we all laugh, and we all think: WTF Hiring?
