The job promises exciting training and career opportunities, including managing nuclear reactors and weapons systems.

Even though the Navy won’t receive its Virginia-class submarines from the US until the early 2030s, the recruitment drive is part of a long-term plan to staff these advanced submarines once they arrive.

The Navy is looking for young people who have just finished school or are currently studying.

The job ad promises training in nuclear propulsion, submarine operations, and leadership skills.

In time, recruits could even become commanding officers.

The training for these roles includes 12 months of nuclear training in the US and three months of basic submarine and warfare courses. Officers will also get hands-on training on real submarines.

As part of the job, recruits can expect travel opportunities, job security, and other perks like chef-made meals and fitness facilities.

This hiring push will help ensure the Navy is ready when it gets its new submarines in the 2030s.

The new submarine officers will join experienced personnel who are already being trained on Virginia-class submarines in the US and Astute-class submarines in the UK.
